About the Role
Vijya Wellness & Biosciences LLP is seeking a full-time PhD-level Scientific Project Lead to manage and execute our biosciences projects in collaboration with CSIR-IHBT, Palampur. The focus is on the research, development, and standardization of plant-derived health and wellness products, including innovations based on cannabis, hemp, and indigenous botanicals. This is a strategic leadership role combining scientific depth with hands-on coordination of laboratory activities, product development, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise research and development work on hemp, cannabis, and natural product derivatives in coordination with CSIR-IHBT teams.
- Manage phytochemical analysis, toxicity studies, food tech validation, and scientific documentation.
- Serve as the point of contact between Vijya Wellness and institutional collaborators, ensuring high-quality research execution.
- Coordinate the preparation of project reports, funding proposals (e.g., BIRAC, AYUSH), and regulatory submissions.
- Oversee scale-up readiness for CO₂ extraction, protein isolate formulation, and wellness product testing.
Qualifications
- PhD in Plant Biochemistry, Phytochemistry, Food Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related life science field.
- Prior experience in natural products, cannabis/hemp R&D, or functional foods is preferred.
- Familiarity with CSIR or academic research ecosystems, laboratory instrumentation, and pilot-scale workflows.
- Demonstrated scientific writing skills and regulatory awareness (FSSAI, AYUSH, NDPS compliance preferred).

Scientific Consultant – Plant-Based Biosciences

About the Role
We are seeking a domain expert or academic professional to collaborate as a consultant on ongoing projects involving plant-derived product innovation, specifically with a focus on cannabis, hemp, and functional botanicals. This role requires periodic travel to R&D and field locations in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, with flexible working hours and deliverables-based coordination.
Scope of Work
- Provide expert consultation on R&D planning, experimental design, and formulation development.
- Review scientific protocols, support grant proposal writing (e.g., SBIRI, NTTM), and validate data outputs.
- Facilitate engagement with universities, CSIR labs, and field partners when needed.
- Offer input on scientific publication strategy, regulatory pathways, and technology commercialization.
Ideal Profile
- PhD in Plant Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- At least 5 years of experience in phytochemical R&D, cannabis/hemp innovation, or allied domains.
- Open to flexible consulting formats (academic collaborators, postdocs, or semi-retired scientists encouraged).
- Ability to travel periodically to Palampur, Dehradun, or field sites.
Duration & Honorarium
- Duration: 6–12 months, extendable.
- Honorarium: As per experience and availability.
